HOLISTIC HEALING THERAPIES

REIKI HEALING

During a Reiki treatment the recipient simply lies down, fully clothed, whilst the therapist gently works through a sequence of hand positions that cover the whole body. Reiki may also be given in a seated position. Reiki heals by flowing into the body and clearing energy pathways allowing it to reach the affected parts and raising their energetic levels. Once the life force can flow in a natural, healthy way, the body can begin to heal itself.

Reiki healing works on the body, mind and spirit. The energy goes to the deeper levels of a person’s being where many illnesses have their origins. It speeds up the body’s ability to heal itself of physical ailments and opens the mind and spirit to the underlying causes of disease and pain. This enables the recipient to gain insight into their attitudes or lifestyle so that their health and happiness can improve.

Reiki is a completely safe, natural and holistic way of treating disease and it will complement and increase the effectiveness of most kinds of medication and treatment.

During the treatment a pleasant feeling of warmth may occur and deep relaxation is experienced with some recipients even falling asleep.

Reiki is used to treat many ailments including stress, anxiety, PMT, menopausal problems, migraine, ME, fibromyalgia, back and neck pain, arthritis, insomnia, tension, depression, asthma and chronic illness.

A course of treatments, starting at weekly intervals and increasing to monthly sessions is advised, the number of treatments required will vary depending on the nature of the illness and the individuals response to the treatment. Improvement is generally seen within 3 sessions. Each session lasts 1 -1 ½ hours, and includes chakra balancing. Depending on the client's needs, crystal healing and Karuna Reiki may also be used.

Reiki may also be used for distant healing and during hypnosis – Hypno-healing – a powerful healing tool.

Reiki is also suitable for animal healing.

KARUNA HEALING

KARUNA is a Sanskrit word used in Buddhism, Zen and Hinduism. The translation is “compassionate action”.

William Rand – an American Reiki master - was guided to continue the evolution of Reiki into a more comprehensive healing system. The system was developed by utilising both Usui and Tibetan Reiki.

Karuna healing allows many other areas of one’s life to be healed such as relationships, loving ourselves, past lives, karmic issues, cellular healing, balancing chakras, and developing clairvoyance. It can also be used for manifesting goals, starting projects and increasing creativity.

Karuna energy is channeled in the same way as Reiki, and some recipients have reported feeling a more powerful energy flowing around them, as it works with eight different vibrational energies. These energies flow into the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies all at the same time, allowing deep healing to take place.

Usually Reiki and Karuna energies are channeled together, depending on each person’s individual needs.

HOLISTIC REFLEXOLOGY

Holistic Reflexology blends the ancient art of reflexology with Reiki healing, thus producing a more powerful and comprehensive healing tool to balance and restore health to the body, mind and spirit.

Massage is applied to the reflex areas of the feet, which correspond to the organs, glands and other parts of the body, whilst Reiki is also being channeled into those areas. This enables the body to release its own natural healing process.

Treatment can be helpful in reducing most symptoms. It will assist by releasing tension, stimulating the immune system to produce antibodies, cleansing the body of toxins and restoring the natural energy flow through the body. Healing will also be experienced on a mental and emotional level.

Holistic Reflexology can help with many stress-related illnesses, for example, insomnia, anxiety, hypertension, P.M.T./menopause, headaches/migraine, I.B.S. and digestive disorders, M.E./fibromyalgia and many other complaints.

Holistic Reflexology can be used to treat acute and chronic illnesses and, used regularly, it is ideal as a preventative healing method as it can identify and rectify weaknesses within the body, often before any physical symptoms occur.

The number of treatments required will vary according to the nature of the illness. Generally, the longer the problem has been with the client, the longer it will take to improve.

A course of 4-6 treatments is generally advised to create optimum balance within the body.

Each individual treatment takes 1-1 ½ hours.

After a treatment many people feel very relaxed and experience a general feeling of well-being.

INDIAN CHAMPISSAGE (Head Massage)

Indian Head Massage is a simple, safe and highly beneficial therapy that has been popular throughout the Indian sub-continent for over a thousand years.

Massage of the scalp, face, neck and shoulders soothes, comforts and re-balances the energy flow to produce a feeling of peace and tranquility.

The head neck and shoulder – all energy centres where tension is most likely to accumulate – are gently, firmly and rhythmically massaged until the pressure begins simply to float away.

By stimulating the scalp circulation, Champissage relaxes the scalp and tones up the underlying muscles, relieving eyestrain, headaches and improving concentration. It also eliminates muscle tension and restores joint movement by stretching and mobilising the tissues of the neck and shoulders. It is therefore especially beneficial to computer users who often experience pain and stiffness in these areas, and others who find that everyday stresses result in tension in the head and neck.

Also recommended for relieving headaches, migraines, and stress, and good for general relaxation.

The treatment is given seated with the client either fully clothed or with bare shoulders and wrapped comfortably in a towel.
